Squaw Lakes
One
of more popular areas in the Applegate Recreation Area is Squaw
Lakes. If you want to get away from it all and really enjoy
the out of doors then Squaw Lakes is for you. Crossing the Applegate
Dam and following the road up the mountain about eight miles
will take you to the high lakes. The air is clean and the water
fresh. Nineteen campsite are scattered around the lakes. Parking
is at the entrance and a host will gladly help you carry your
gear. Enjoy the fishing , hiking and get getting back to nature
in these high mountain lakes. Paddle boats alone are allowed
on the lake, a great place to canoe or raft and check out the
